Legionella Surveyor
Job Description

To complete legionella risk assessments and reviews in accordance with the HSC Approved Code of Practice L8:2000 and the Code of Practice BS8580:2010:

  • enhancing the companies marketplace image,
  • identifying new or ‘upgrade’ business in existing or new customers,
  • to increase profitability.

AquaCare Water Hygiene Services offers a technical solution based on a mixture of labour and products to ensure compliance with legislation and to produce efficiencies within the water hygiene and treatment marketplace.

Main activities and tasks
  • • Responsible for completing the legionella risk assessments, risk assessment reviews and surveys for existing clients and new clients on hot and cold water systems, cooling towers and other associated water systems that are found on site.
  • Be capable of interpretation of the survey and recognising the issues as a result of the survey & assessment; liaise with the client at board level as well as operator level.
  • Water Hygiene – be responsible for carrying out monitoring tasks, sampling and record keeping in strict accordance with the ACoP L8 and AquaCare LCA Statement of Compliance.
  • Work to agreed targets in achieving the correct timescales for the duties i.e. Surveying or Monitoring.
  • Undertake on-site surveys of clients' properties and produce reports, estimates and quotations to ensure maximum efficiency and legal compliance with the ACoP L8:2000 and the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999
  • Maintain and build on customer relationships in order to maintain customers through on-going servicing and monitoring, sampling and regular reviews.
  • Review performance with the General Manager.
  • Identify areas for growth of products and services i.e. upgrades of existing or new business.
  • Generate, wherever possible, cross-selling opportunities.
  • Liaise, where necessary, with other Departments with regard to business opportunities from the existing Water Services client base.
  • Liaise closely with other members of the team to ensure that the requirements of the company are met with regard to forward planning of labour.
  • Assist where necessary in field and give support to other members of the team.
  • Carry out the function in accordance with company Health & Safety and Quality policies.
  • Carry out the function in accordance with the Departmental Procedures and those under the Legionella Control Association – Code of Compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of Legionnaires ’ disease, through training and continual improvement, either through internal or external means as identified at annual appraisals or interim ‘tool-box’ discussions.
  • All duties should be carried out in parallel with the Water Hygiene Standards of Service (SOS):2005.
